Cathay Petroleum International Ltd (CPI) is a private integrated Upstream & Downstream Energy company.

The company was established in 2003 and is registered in Hong Kong.  CPI has grown from a petroleum and products marketing and trading company with the recent integration of an Exploration & Production (E&P) function. CPI has incorporated an E & P division managed by an experienced team of specialists. The team is mandated to create value across a diverse portfolio of oil & gas exploration and production assets on a worldwide basis with an emphasis on the Asia Pacific region.

The E&P activity focuses on value creation by developing upstream activities including the acquisition and production of proven reserves. CPI will further enhance downstream activities including processing, trading and marketing of petrochemicals through its extensive industry network.
